Earlier Detection Saves Lives
If oral cancer is found early, in stage I or II, it can have an 80-90% survival rate. Unfortunately, most oral cancers are found in stages III or later, with only a 43% average survival rate. Eyes are just not enough to reliably detect cancerous lesions, especially pre-cancerous ones. But with a technology
called OralID, there is hope for early detection.
OralID uses a fluorescent blue light that helps a dentist identify oral cancer and pre-cancerous lesions. It’s also used for identifying cancer in the GI tract, cervix and lungs. This technology will help increase the chances of catching cancer before it’s too late.
